 Overview
Mirrabooka Square, Belmont Forum, and Cockburn Gateway are owned by the same parent company. They wished to create a new corporate web site for each shopping centre that had several key focuses – promotion of the shopping centres and tenants, to allow tenants to update their own centre listings, to improve communication with tenants, and to start communicating directly with shoppers to improve loyalty and satisfaction.
Solution
PerthWeb suggested a corporate web site with a custom Joomla Content Management System (CMS) for the shopping centres. Each centre has their own administration system, but the solution actually features a common CMS to reduce implementation and maintenance costs.
Joomla is a very popular CMS, which allows not only the creation of new pages and the editing of content across the pages, but also includes user management and allows the creation of customised editing via simple forms, simplifying updates and making them faster to complete. Some of the customised features include the ability for the centre administration to add/edit/delete tenants and their display information, and the ability to send newsletters to tenants and have them confirm receipt.
Tenants themselves may also edit their web site display information, and create specials for display on the web site, all of which must be approved by the centre administrator before it appears live on the web site. The centres also have the ability to add news and specials to the site, and to contact registered visitors via a series of specialized mailing lists that are controlled by PerthWeb’s Mail List Manager.
Through the deployment of this system, all three of the centres have benefited not only from increased patronage of the web site, but from the ability to easily update the web site, and communicate with both tenants and shoppers. Each shopping centre continues to add features to their web sites.
