Kitchen Warehouse
Web Base Product Management Software

Kitchen WarehouseOverview
Kitchen Warehouse are an existing Perth company that has 3 outlets retailing kitchen accessories. They wanted to reach the broader Australian market via an online retail solution rather than setting up new stores in the Eastern states which would take significant time and money. The online market place was already quite crowded, but Kitchen Warehouse felt that with their keen pricing and an attractive sales focused web site from PerthWeb that they could effectively compete.

However, Kitchen Warehouse did face an additional problem in that they literally had 1000s of products, and did not want to have to utilise a web browser based shopping cart administration system to enter and maintain all the products, as it would just be too slow and time consuming. Luckily PerthWeb have a product known as Web Base, which is a Windows application that can import product information from existing Point of Sale systems, and features a very quick and easy to use product management interface, synchronizing with the web site as required.

Solution
PerthWeb worked closely with the owners of Kitchen Warehouse to design a fantastic looking e-commerce web site that is highly customised. It not only allows easy browsing of products via category, but allows browsing by brands and related products. Customers may also create a member login if desired, which auto-adds their details into orders, and allows them to view current and past orders online.

The Web Base software not only controls products, it also manages orders and clients. As orders are processed, clients are automatically updated via email of order status. Packing slips are also created for Kitchen Warehouse staff so they may pack and ship the orders.

PerthWeb has also worked closely with Kitchen Warehouse on the marketing of the web site. Initially, a paid Google Adsense campaign was used to kick start sales on the web site, but PerthWeb optimized key pages for search engines, made the product catalog search engine friendly for indexing, and conducted a back linking campaign to help with Google in particular. Within months natural search engine rankings rose quickly, and Kitchen Warehouse was able to reduce paid advertisements.

PerthWeb also included support for Google Analytics within the web site, allowing Kitchen Warehouse to track the progress of purchasers through the web site, to try and indicate why a sale might not have been complicated, and to see which particular key words resulted in sales. The Google Map service was also utilised to track location of purchasers visually. This greatly helped refine the whole marketing process for the web site and to better target any advertising.

So what is the end result? Within less than 12 months, the web site has become the core revenue stream for Kitchen Warehouse, with clients not only across Australia, but in New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The client is understandably more than happy with the result!
